Lee McLernon

Steward

Having watched and enjoyed the Lord Mayor’s Show for many years, Lee thought he could be a part of the traditions and history of the City of London and joined the Company in 2008, being clothed in the Livery in 2009.

Along with current Junior Warden Gareth Ledsham and with a view to creating efficiencies within the Company’s committee structure, Lee was instrumental in setting up the Company’s Whittington LEMS committee, of which he is currently chair.

He is currently Counsel in the Asset, Trade and Export Finance team at Dentons, where he has spent his legal career to date having started as a trainee solicitor at legacy firm Wilde Sapte following studies at Girton College, Cambridge (law) and the Oxford Institute of Legal Practice (where he met his wife, Karen).

His main interests are cultural (music, theatre, opera, ballet) and watching various sports (having a season ticket at a Premiership football club and having travelled to the biathlon world championships) and he enjoys the fellowship and exercise of Scottish Country Dancing.  He recently stepped down as a trustee of the Promenaders’ Musical Charities (a philanthropic fund-raising trust), having served 23 years as honorary treasurer and then chair.

Lee is also a Liveryman of the Worshipful Company of Musicians, where he is currently a Steward and a member of the Farringdon Ward Club and the City Livery Club.
